So-called “intellectual property” (ie. copyrights and patents) is one of the most elite-controlled forms of “property” around, and one of the forms of government regulation most harmful to dynamism. On the other hand, many are concerned that removing intellectual property entirely would overly harm the incentive to innovate and make artistic works. To strike a balance, I propose a happy medium: we keep copyrights and patents, but put Harberger taxes on them. — Vitalik Butherin
