Highlights
• How to Find Your Real Self
It cannot be denied that to expand the consciousness of a limited mind is a tremendously difficult task, for all human beings have only the limited mind available to them when they start out. This limited mind must transcend itself in order to realize its unlimited power and scope. Therefore this path constantly requires your mind to bridge the gap of its own limitations by considering new possibilities and by making room for other alternatives for the self, for life, and for expressing the self in life.
• How to Find Your Real Self
This is not an easy path. But the difficulty is not fixed and immovable. It exists only to the degree the personality has a state in avoiding aspects of the self. To the degree the commitment is made to be in truth with the self, the difficulty vanishes. And what first seemed a difficulty now begins to become a challenge, an exciting journey, a process that makes life so intensely real and wholesome, so secure and fulfilling, that you would not want to give it up for anything.
• Positivity and Negativity Are One Energy Current
Negative and positive are not two aspects of energy and consciousness: they are one and the same. Whatever particles of energy and consciousness in your self have turned negative must be reconverted into their original positive way of being. This cannot be accomplished without fully taking responsibility for the negativity in you
• “Images,” or Wrong Conclusions
misconceptions are formed in early childhood. These distorted perceptions of reality continue to influence the behavior of the adult. They develop into firmly held conclusions about life
• “Images,” or Wrong Conclusions
A conclusion drawn from distorted perception is a wrong conclusion;
• “Images,” or Wrong Conclusions
images are actually wrong conclusions about the nature of reality that are so firmly embedded in a person’s psyche that they become behavior-controlling signals in life situations.
• Progress on the Path
The fear is a denial of other feelings. When the original feeling is being accepted and experienced, the knot dissolves. Thus, it is never the feeling itself that is unbearable. However, your attitude has the power to make it so.
• Freeing Your Spiritual Self
No matter how negative, mean, vain, or egotistical you may find a corner of yourself to be—contrary to other, more developed aspects of your personality—it is absolutely necessary that every aspect of your being be accepted and dealt with. No aspect should be left out or covered over in the wishful hope that it would no longer matter and would somehow just go away. It does matter, my friends. Nothing that exists in you is powerless. No matter how hidden a dark aspect might be, it creates life conditions that you must deplore. This is one reason why you must learn to accept the negatively creating aspects in you
• Freeing Your Spiritual Self
Another reason is that no matter how destructive, cruel, and bad it may be, every aspect of energy and consciousness is in its original essence both beautiful and positive. The distortions must be reconverted into their original essence. Energy and consciousness can become creative again in a positive way only when the light of cognizance and positive intentionality are brought to bear on them. Unless you do this, you cannot come into your creative core.
• Giving Up Illusions
Meditation, and creative visualization, however, can be very helpful tools when used in conjunction with self-confrontation.
• Being Lived Through by the Spirit
In former times the average person was too far removed from his or her core to seek spiritual life from inside; it had to be projected outside. This inability to assume responsibility for the self then led to the creation of an outer devil who would possess an individual and an outside God who would help.
• Obstructions to Finding the Real Self
This simple act of wanting the truth requires several conditions, the most important being the willingness to relinquish what one holds on to, whether this be a belief, a fear, or a cherished way of being. When I say relinquish, I merely mean questioning it and being willing to see that there is something else beyond this outlook. This brings us back to why you are terrified to relinquish the ego state, hence the dualistic, painful way of life. Why do you resist so much committing yourself to this deep inner center, which unifies all good and is instantly accessible?
• Your Ego Versus Your Divine Center
the ego will eventually integrate with the real self so that there is one self, which will be fuller, better equipped, wiser. It will have more and better assets than you can imagine.
But the separated ego thinks this development means annihilation. In its ignorant, limited way, the ego exists only as a separated being; hence, it pursues further separateness.
• Your Ego Versus Your Divine Center
all your reactions and beliefs can be ascertained only when you have learned to admit them
• Your Ego Versus Your Divine Center
You also need to question the meaning of a particular reaction and look behind the facade, beyond what it pretends to mean
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
Yes, you will, of course, experience negative emotions, but you will never fear that they can lead you into losing self-control.
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
place, it is important that you do not feel guilty about the existence of such emotions, which are probably incompatible with the image you have of yourself. If you learn to accept the reality of yourself instead of your mistaken self-image, the strength of negative emotions will abate
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
That means that the emotions as such are not dangerous, but it is our disappointment in ourselves that makes them so powerful or dangerous?
ANSWER: Yes, that is right.
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
Find the child who wants to strike out and you will be in control of evolving negative emotions without repressing them, but expressing them constructively and learning from them.
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
Find the area in which you resent not being taken care of, not being given all you want. Once you are aware of the reason for all this anger, you will be able to humor yourself because you will see the preposterous demands of the child in you. This is the work you have to do in this particular phase
• If the Feelings Are Stunted, Love Cannot Grow
You see, my friends, your misunderstanding is that you think the harm comes from the existence of the negative emotions as such. It does not. It comes from your non-acceptance of your real self, from the blame you throw into the world for not allowing you to be what you feel you could be if the world would let you. This is the nature of such strong, powerful emotions, and they can endanger you only as long as you are unaware of their nature. Therefore, seek their meaning. Seek their true message and you will never have to fear.
9 Real and False Needs
Most human beings are not yet aware of the immense spiritual potentials and powers they have. Now, what do I mean when I say spiritual potentials and powers? I mean that these powers transcend by far the human capacities considered normal in your sphere of being.
• Awakening the Dormant Spiritual Potentials
These powers remain inaccessible or may even be dangerous if the human being is not purified to a certain degree, or if the consciousness is still in a state of half-sleep, which is always connected with destructive attitudes such as selfwill, pride, fear, greed, envy, malice, cruelty, spite, and selfishness
